Former AEW Broadcaster Explains Suing Over Departure
Kelly’s Departure and Legal Action
Former AEW Broadcaster Kevin Kelly was replaced as “Collision’s” play-by-play commentator by Tony Schiavone while waiting for HR to follow up. He was also left off commentary on AEW PPV events. Kelly sought an apology and clarification from the HR representative but was unsatisfied with the private handling of the matter. Despite assurances from an Executive Producer that his standing in the company was not compromised, Kelly was excluded from Sting’s retirement weekend, prompting an angry response on social media and towards the HR representative.
The Turning Point
Kelly, feeling infuriated by comments on AEW video, sought mental health assistance within the company but instead was terminated for his public statements on social media and a voice message left for HR. This led Kelly to decide to sue AEW over his departure.
